The accentors are endemic to the Palearctic, mostly inhabiting the mountainous regions of Europe and Asia.
These birds look similar to sparrows, but are unrelated.
They feed on insects in summer and augment their with seeds and berries in the winter.
They build cup nests. The female lays on average 4 unspotted green or blue eggs. Both parents share the incubation duties.
