Pacific Baza or Crested Hawk, Aviceda subcristata

Black Baza (Aviceda leuphotes)The Bazas – members of the bird genus Aviceda – are birds of prey with a widespread distribution that stretches from Australia to southern Asia and across to Africa. The Bazas are sometimes known as cuckoo-hawks.


They have prominent head crests and tooth-like indentations on the edge of the upper bills.
