The Black-naped Oriole, Oriolus chinensis, is found in south Asia, where it occurs on the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. They are migrants in most parts of South India and are most regularly seen in the Western Ghats.
Description
The Black-naped Oriole is is easily differentiated from the Golden Oriole by the broad black eye stripe continuing to join on the nape (back of the neck). The bill is also stouter than that of the former species.
The female has the mantle color more greenish or olive.
Diet / Feeding
They feed on insects and fruit.
Nesting / Breeding
They breed from June to December seasons. The nest is a deep cup in a fork of a tree.
