The Black-bellied Storm-petrel (Fregetta tropica) is a seabird with a wide range:

  • Antarctica (southern hemisphere)
  • Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Peru, Uruguay, South America
  • Australia
  • Bouvet Island – an uninhabited Antarctic volcanic island in the South Atlantic Ocean, 2525 km south-southwest of South Africa.
  • Falkland Islands – in the South Atlantic Ocean, located about 300 miles (260 nmi; 480 km) from the coast of mainland South America
  • French Polynesia – group of islands located in the southern Pacific Ocean
  • French Southern Territories – a group of volcanic islands in the southern Indian Ocean, southeast of Africa, approximately equidistant between Africa, Antarctica and Australia
  • Madagascar
  • Mozambique (South-eastern Africa), South Africa
  • New Zealand
  • Oman – Arab country in southwest Asia
  • Saint Helena
  • São Tomé and Príncipe: an island nation in the Gulf of Guinea, off the western equatorial coast of Africa
  • Solomon Islands
  • South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands – a British overseas territory in the southern Atlantic Ocean
  • Vanuatu – an island nation located in the South Pacific Ocean
