Catbirds

The Black Catbirds (Melanoptila glabrirostris) are found in Belize, Guatemala, Honduras (Central America) and Mexico (North America), where they inhabit subtropical or tropical dry forests, lowland forests, and heavily degraded former forest. This species is endangered within its natural range due to habitat loss.

At 20 cm in length and 24 grams in eight, this is the smallest of all mimids.
