The Black-nest Swiftlet (Collocalia maxima) is found in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam; where it lives in subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and montanes.
The Black-nest Swiftlet is one of the main sources of edible “saliva” nests for the “bird’s nest soup” – a delicacy in Chinese cuisine.
