The Golden-fronted Bowerbird (Amblyornis flavifrons) is an Indonesian endemic.

 

Description

This medium-sized bowerbird measures ab out 24 cm in length and has a mostly brown plumage.

The male is rufous brown with an elongated golden crest extending from its golden forehead, dark grey feet and buffish yellow underparts.

The female’s plumage is olive brown.

 

Breeding / Nesting

The male builds a tower-like “maypole-type” bower that he decorates with fruit.
