This species has an expansive range, with an estimated global extent of occurrence of 3,800,000 km².
This range includes Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Nigeria, South Cameroon, Bioko I., Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Congo, Central African Republic, South Sudan and northern areas of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (formerly Zaire), Angola, Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda, West Kenya and West Tanzania
Within its range of distribution, it inhabits montane rain forests and gallery forests from sea level to around 2700m.
Diet / Food:
It feeds mainly on available fruits within this environment, but the eating of leaves, shoots and flowers have also been noted.
