The Green-tailed Towhee, Pipilo chlorurus, breeds in most of the interior Western United States, and moves down to Mexico and the southern edge of the Southwestern United States for the winter.
The Green-tailed Towhee has bright green stripes on the edge of its wings, a distinct white throat and a rufous cap.
It can become fairly confiding, but is usually hidden in bushes.
