Cotingas
The Plum-throated Cotinga (Cotinga maynana) is found in South America, specifically the following countries: Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru.
Natural Habitat:
Subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, subtropical or tropical swamps, and heavily degraded former forest areas.
Diet / Feeding
They feed mainly on fruit.
Description
The males have bright blue plumage with a plum-colored throat patch. The blue color is produced by air bubbles in the feathers which scatter light. The females are much duller than males and are mainly brown.
