The Polynesian Starling (Aplonis tabuensis) is found in American Samoa, Samoa, Fiji, Niue, Tonga, the Santa Cruz Islands, and Wallis and Futuna Islands.
Several subspecies exist throughout its range, some are darker in coloration and some lighter.
Calls / Vocalizations
Their calls sound like a raspy buzz or rattle.
Diet / Feeding
The feed on fruits and insects. On islands where the Samoan Starling is present, the Polynesian Starling keeps to the forest, feeding on harder, less edible fruit.
