Red-shouldered Glossy-starlings or Cape Glossy Starlings

The Red-shouldered Glossy Starlings (Lamprotornis nitens) – also known as Cape Glossy Starlings, Cape Starlings or Damarland Glossy Starlings – are endemic to Africa, specifically the following countries: Angola, Botswana, Republic of the Congo, Gabon, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Distribution / Range

Their range stretches from the mouth of the Congo River south through western and southern Angola to southwestern Zambia and Zimbabwe, south to Namibia, Botswana, South Africa (except the southern and southwestern Cape region and dry western interior), western lowlands of Lesotho, Swaziland and southern Mozambique.
