The Skånegås – also known as Scania Geese or South Sweden Geese – originate from Sweden, specifically from the towns of Vomb and Hunneberga around the end of the 19th century.
This is a large goose with males weighing between 24 to 38 lbs and hens between 15 to 20 lbs. The plumage is mainly gray and white. They have blue-grey eyes and yellowish-orange bills.
They tend to be calm, but can be aggressive at times. They make excellent parents.
Diet / Feeding:
Ducks and geese generally feed on larvae and pupae usually found under rocks, aquatic animals, plant material, seeds, small fish, snails and crabs.
