Scaups Species

Scaups may refer to one of three species of diving duck:

• Greater Scaup or just Scaup, Aythya marila
• Lesser Scaup, Aythya affinis
• New Zealand Scaup, Aythya novaeseelandiae

Diet / Feeding:

Scaups mainly eat mollusks and aquatic plants, obtained by diving and swimmming underwater.

Ducks generally feed on larvae and pupae usually found under rocks, aquatic animals, plant material, seeds, small fish, snails and crabs.
