Solomon Hawk Owl (Ninox jacquinoti)

The Solomon Hawk Owl, Ninox jacquinoti, is common on the Solomon Islands – where it inhabits lowland areas and foothills up to elevations of 1500 meters above sea level.

They live in primary or tall secondary forests.

This small to medium-sized hawk owl has a grey-brown facial disk, yellow eyes, a grey beak and white eyebrows

The plumage below is sometimes spotted or barred white. The abdomen is creamy and unmarked.
