The Vanuatu Megapode or Vanuatu Scrubfowl (Megapodius layardi) is found only in Vanuatu; where it inhabits subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests.
This species is threatened by habitat loss.
They are stocky, medium-large chicken-like birds with small heads and large feet.
