The White-crowned Hornbill (Berenicornis comatus) is also sometimes referred to as the White-crested Hornbill, potentially leading to confusion with the African White-crested Hornbill (Tropicranus albocristatus).

It occurs naturally in the forests of the Thai-Malay Peninsula, Sumatra and Borneo. This species is threatened by habitat loss.
