White-plumed Antbirds

The White-plumed Antbirds (Pithys albifrons) occur naturally north of the Amazon River, in the northeast with the Guianas, and in the northwest.


The plumage is a deep red-brown. The wings and the head are blackish with a bright-white feathered mask.

Distribution / Range

The White-plumed Antibrds are native to the following South American countries:

Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador and Peru; also the Guianas: Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana.

They inhabit tropical moist lowland forests.
