The White-throated Caracara (Phalcoboenus albogularis) is a South American bird of prey that is found in grasslands and other barren habitats in the Andes of southern Chile and Argentina.
Within its natural range, this Caracara is generally uncommon to fairly common.
Description
It looks like the closely related Mountain Caracara, except it has white underparts (including chest and throat).
Young birds are overall brown with dull pinkish-grey facial skin.
Diet / Feeding
It is often seen walking on the ground searching for carrion or any small animal to feed on.
