The Mallee Ringnecks (Barnardius zonarius barnardi or Barnardius barnardi) – also known as the Mallee Parrots — are native to south-eastern Australia (Queensland to South Australia). They are often seen in pairs or family groups feeding in branches or shrubs.
The natural range of the Slaty-headed Parakeets (Psittacula himalayana) extends from the foothills of the Western Himalayas to Arunachal Pradesh (Eastern Afghanistan to Vietnam). They migrate down to the valleys for the winters, usually during the last week of October.
The Niam-niam Parrot (Poicephalus crassus) is endemic to Central Africa, where it can be found in eastern Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, southwest Sudan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (formerly Zaire).
